According to the nationwide building society house prices have continued to rise in the U.K.The average house has gone up in value in November 2009 by 0.5% to £162,764.00.

Toilet mystery on Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific claims it's fleet of airbus planes have been hit my mysterious blockages in the toilets.The problem is so serious that one flight from Riyadh to Hong Kong had to stop in the Indian city of mumbai after the crew discovered that none of the ten toilets were working.Some flights had to reduce some passengers because of the toilet problems.Carolyn Leung spokeswoman for the airline is saying that although the cause for the blockages is unclear but passengers themselves may partly be at blame.There have been numerous foreign objects found in the pipes,and when one toilet is blocked this will affect all the toilets on the same side.

Drugs death woman's mother makes public appeal

Kate Shanks of Elgin has made a fresh appeal to the public to help catch drug dealers after her daughter Suzanne 30 was foud dead earlier this year.Suzannes father Gordon foud his daughter in her flat in Culloden.Mrs Shanks said "drugs only lead to misery and heartache".Last moth a survey by Glasgow university discovered that the number of injecting drug users was on the increase.According to Mrs Shanks there are about 55,000 drug users in Scotland and that her daughter had become a full blown addict at the age of 19,having experimented with other drugs previous to that.

A petrol station manager in Northampshire has to keep jars of marmite hidden after jars were repeatedly stolen from the shell garage.Jim Keary had to move the stock after £50 of stock dissapeared.he said depending on what happens the petrol station may put it back on the shelves.

US President Obama hosts summit with Indian PM Singh

US President Barack Obama has called Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a fitting leader to be the first state visitor of his presidency.Obama stated that India was an important global power.The talks are going include Afghanistan,trade,climate change and nuclear energy deal signed sealed and delivered by the Bush administration.India India hopes the talks will see the finalisation of the civilian nuclear deal with the US.Last year India and the U.S. Signed a civilian nuclear deal to end 34 years of American sanctions.

HBOS and RBS received secret bank rescue loans

The bank of England has just revealed that it lent RBS AND HBOS £61.6 billion in autumn 2008.Bank governor Mervyn King stated that the money was repaid in full in Jan 2009.In his parliamentary testimony Mr King was also asked whether the UK was at risk of a credit downgrade. "I don't think there's any immediate risk, but the longer there isn't a credible plan that sets out what action will be taken [on reducing the deficit], the more that is a risk," he replied.
